Winona Ryder is the professional name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter after her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father had her Jewish heritage. The actress has the title of being the younger sister of Uria who is half-sibling to Jubal and Sunyata.
